I went out today chunking a med/shallow diver crank bait and was killing the smaller fish. I caught Sandies, Green Sunfish, Channel Cat, Spotted Gar, Drum, Spotted Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth. I was having a difficult time trying to not catch Sandbass, and good ones too. I wasn't bringing in any real size on the L/M S/M Bass though. The sky starting turning black as the wild fires were kicking up not to far away. I headed upstream from the bridge for the first time and started catching Smallmouth, I loved that. I did manage a really nice 7 pound Largemouth on a Senko working it really slow, that got me STOKED! I ended up leaving sooner than I planned as the fire was getting close, good thing because the highway was shut down when I got on it.
